Case Study: Youth GO “The Hallows”

For several years, I was the special events coordinator for a non-profit agency called Youth Go. Their mission is to serve youth and provide opportunities. One of their essential fundraisers is a haunted woods experience “The Hallows”. To start, I wanted to create a logo for them that has an iconic horror vibe without being trite. I created the logo in illustrator with several versions for their printing needs.

To reflect the terror of travelling in a dark woods, I found an image that makes the viewer feel both scared and voyeristic. I added a bit more blue saturation and darkness to give it a feeling close to the original Friday the 13th VHS cover. This was a record breaking year and I’m looking forward to developing new horrors for a good cause.

Fit to print

I love to think of the way people process information. In the New Moon menus, we needed them to be large and quickly scannable for customers as they wait in line to order food and beverages. With Scaffoldmart, we designed box art, technical manuals, posters for marketing in stores, brochures, PowerPoints, product stickers and more. For many of the technical manuals, new technical drawings were completed in Adobe Illustrator.
